This paper contributes to this literature by showing the centrality of practices in the making of crime forecasts and corresponding prevention measures. To do so, it turns to sociological and critical data studies litrature that has explored the performative effects of data practices in other domains and has demonstrated how data simultaneously make worlds and subject them to interventions.
